DIVISIONS
The Community Technology Division of the Economic Development Department provides and promotes information and communications technology (ICT) resources to the community through public access and free training to help residents enhance their knowledge and skills. Community Technology's work supports the implementation of Austin's Digital Inclusion Strategic Plan.
Facilitates international expansion, manage City-issued incentives, define and manage workforce contracts, and empower more businesses to reduce and reuse waste through a unique partnership with Austin Resource Recovery.
The Small Business Division assists startup and existing businesses through information sharing and referrals, low-cost business classes, no-fee business coaching, and special informational events.

The Workforce Development & Child Care Division connects Austin residents to pathways toward economic opportunity through education, job readiness, youth programs, and wraparound support services. The Division empowers individuals and families by providing equitable access to career training, digital skills, and workforce programs that respond to Austin’s growing economy.
